Project Details

In this project, I developed dynamic sales and financial reports in Excel to support data-driven decision-making and enhance business performance. The sales reports highlighted customer behavior, market trends, and performance against targets, empowering businesses to optimize pricing, improve negotiations, and identify growth opportunities. The financial reports, including Profit and Loss breakdowns by fiscal year, month, and market, provided valuable insights for budgeting and long-term planning.

Compared unique product counts for 2020 and 2021, showing a 36.33% increase from 245 to 334 products using SQL analysis.

Project Details

Challenge:
Tony Sharma, Data Analytics Director, needed to assess candidates’ technical and communication skills by having them solve 10 real business questions.

My Task:
Reviewed the “ad-hoc-requests.pdf,” wrote optimized SQL queries on six MySQL tables covering sales, customers, pricing, and discounts, and built a Power BI dashboard plus a PowerPoint deck for C-suite presentation.

Approach & Tools:
Used MySQL joins, aggregations, and subqueries for data retrieval. Applied Power Query, DAX, and visuals in Power BI to highlight key metrics. Designed clear slides in PowerPoint for executive decision-making.

What I Learned:
Advanced SQL, multi-table data modelling, Power Query, DAX, dashboard design, and creating data stories for leadership.

Outcome:
Delivered insights that helped management make faster decisions on sales strategies, inventory planning, and customer targeting. Strengthened my analytical and presentation skills.
