About Me

Hi, I’m Harishankar, a graphic designer at TNQ Technologies, transitioning into data analytics. My design work taught me to notice small details and present information so people actually understand it. I bring that same approach to data.

I use SQL, Power BI, Python and Excel to clean data, find patterns and turn them into clear dashboards and reports. I’ve built projects in hotel, hardware and sales analysis, and you can see them in the Projects section below.

What I bring: analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to explain insights visually so non-technical teams can act on them. Being a designer helps me choose the right chart, keep layouts clean and tell the story behind the numbers, not just show them.

Domain/Function: Sales & Finance

Developed an Excel-based Sales & Finance Analytics solution for AtliQ Hardware using 800K+ rows of data. Automated data cleaning with Power Query and built Power Pivot models and DAX measures to analyze sales performance, profitability, customer trends, and financial KPIs.

AtliQ Hardware – Sales & Finance Analytics

Market Performance by Customers: a PivotTable report comparing customer-wise sales and profitability across markets, built on ~800K rows of AtliQ Hardware data with Power Query, Power Pivot and DAX.

Project Details

AtliQ Hardware needed to analyse sales and financial performance across multiple fiscal years, using a dataset of about 800,000 rows. The goal was to build a Sales & Finance Analytics Report that tracks key KPIs like Net Sales, COGS and Gross Margin, and automates manual work.

What I did:
• Automated data cleaning with Power Query, saving about 4 hours of manual effort
• Built a data model in Power Pivot and wrote DAX measures for financial metrics
• Designed PivotTable reports for P&L (fiscal year, market, quarter, subzone), performance vs target, customers, and top and bottom products
• Reduced data processing time by 50%, enabling faster, data-driven decisions

Domain/Function: Business Analytics

Power BI project for AtliQ with five dashboard views: Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Executive. Built on MySQL data to track profit, product and customer performance, campaign impact and supply chain efficiency, supporting data-driven decisions aimed at growing sales by 10%.

Developed an interactive Business Insights 360 dashboard for AtliQ Hardware to provide a comprehensive view of business performance across multiple departments.

Key Contributions:

Connected MySQL data with Power BI for business analysis and visualization.

Built a Finance View to analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial trends.

Created a Sales View to evaluate customer performance, product trends, and market opportunities.

Developed a Marketing View to assess campaign effectiveness and marketing performance.

Designed a Supply Chain View to analyze inventory, forecast-related metrics, and operational efficiency.

Built an Executive View with key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.

Applied business and financial concepts such as Net Sales, Gross Margin, COGS, Net Profit, YTD, and YTG.

Objective: Enable data-driven decision-making and support the business goal of improving sales by 10%.

Domain/Function: Sales & Product Analytics (Consumer Electronics)

SQL project for AtliQ Hardwares answering 10 business questions on products, customers, discounts, channels and sales trends using MySQL. Found a 36% rise in products, retailers driving 73% of sales, and Q3 as the weakest quarter, with joins, CTEs and window functions.

Project Details

A hands-on SQL project for AtliQ Hardwares, a consumer electronics company operating across India and global markets. The goal was to turn raw sales and product data into insights that support business decisions, using MySQL to answer 10 business questions.

Questions covered:
• Product growth and mix across segments
• Manufacturing cost range across products
• Pre-invoice discounts for major Indian customers
• Monthly and quarterly sales trends
• Channel contribution and top products by division

Key findings:
• Distinct products grew 36% (245 to 334), led by accessories
• Retailers contribute 73% of gross sales
• Q1 and Q2 account for about 66% of units sold, Q3 is the weakest
• Top Indian customers receive about 30% pre-invoice discounts
