Project Details

The project aims to extract table-level information from PDF invoices and save the data into Excel sheets while preserving the original format. The client requested that all information within the tables of the PDF invoices be extracted, as they will use this data to file taxes with the government.

To accomplish this, I utilised the Python programming language along with the PyPDF2 library. I developed a Python script that searches for specific keywords that are consistently present in the PDF invoices. Once these conditions are met, the script pulls information line by line from the invoices. After the data is extracted using the NumPy library, it is stored in Pandas dataframes, which allows for easy manipulation.

Finally, I saved the collected data into Excel sheets. I then performed post-processing on the Excel data to convert it into the format required by the client.
