Hi, I’m Soma Sekhar Manda — a data enthusiast with a passion for finding meaning in numbers. I come from an MBA background, and during my journey, I discovered how much I enjoy working with data to solve real business problems.

Even though I’m a fresher, I’ve completed several hands-on projects using tools like Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Python. These projects helped me create dashboards, analyze trends, and uncover useful insights — just like a professional data analyst would.

Project Details

In this project, I created a sales report using excel pivot tables which will enable businesses to determine effective customer discounts, facilitate negotiations with consumers, and identify potential business expansion opportunities in promising countries. The reports generated will provide actionable insights and recommendations for businesses to optimize their sales strategies, enhance customer satisfaction, and maximize revenue generation.

Project Details

AtliQ Grands, a premium hotel chain, was losing revenue due to poor decision-making and increased competition. The revenue team lacked data insights, so I was tasked to build a BI dashboard. Using historical data, I created performance metrics like Revenue, RevPAR, Occupancy %, ADR, and Booking trends across cities and room types. The Power BI dashboard included filters, charts, and tables for deeper exploration. Strategic insights such as city-wise performance, platform effectiveness, and weekday vs. weekend revenue were visualized. The dashboard helped identify low-performing cities, optimize pricing strategies, and allocate resources more efficiently—enabling the team to improve occupancy and revenue.

Completed an E-Commerce Sales Analysis project using MySQL as part of the Codebasics challenge. Extracted insights like top revenue-generating customers, monthly sales trends, and product performance using SQL joins, CTEs, and aggregate functions.

Project Details

As part of the Codebasics Data Analytics Challenge, I completed an E-Commerce Sales Analysis project using MySQL. I worked with a mock dataset containing customer orders, products, and transactions. My objective was to uncover key business insights that would support strategic decision-making for a retail company. Using SQL, I created and executed queries to identify top customers by revenue, best-selling products, monthly sales trends, and customer segments. A key insight revealed that 20% of customers contributed to 80% of the revenue, indicating a strong Pareto principle. I applied joins, aggregate functions, CTEs, and window functions to analyze sales and performance metrics efficiently. This project improved my SQL querying skills and my ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
