This project, which combines Power BI, SQL, and Excel, centers around addressing operational issues at AtliQ Hardware, a prominent global consumer electronics company. The company's heavy reliance on Excel for data analysis has led to significant losses in some regions. To rectify this, senior management aims to initiate a data analytics project, leveraging data from the previous year to enhance performance and drive improvements.

AtliQ Grands, a renowned five-star hotel chain with over 20 years of legacy, faced declining market share and revenue due to rising competition and suboptimal management decisions. To address these challenges, the managing director initiated a strategic project to embed "Business and Data Intelligence" into operations, aiming to reclaim market share and boost revenue.

Key achievements included formulating metrics aligned with business goals, designing a Power BI dashboard per stakeholder mock-ups, and generating insights beyond initial requirements. The dashboard provided real-time tracking of metrics like occupancy rate, RevPAR, and market share, empowering data-driven decisions.
Tools like SQL, Excel, Power BI, and DAX Studio were employed for ETL processes, data modeling, and advanced calculations. The project fostered a data-driven culture, optimized strategies, and highlighted growth opportunities, positioning AtliQ for long-term success in the competitive hospitality market

Project Details

In the "Consumer Goods Domain" project, I worked on the database of Atliq Hardwares, addressing the challenge of making data-informed decisions. By resolving ten ad-hoc requests, I extracted actionable insights that highlighted a significant increase in unique products, the dominance of the 'Notebook' segment, and growth in the 'Accessories' category. The analysis uncovered sales seasonality patterns and emphasized the crucial role of the 'Retailer' channel in driving performance.

Key learnings from this project included recognizing the transformative power of data analytics for strategic decision-making, understanding the dynamic nature of the consumer goods market, appreciating the value of product diversity, and identifying the impact of seasonality and distribution channels on sales outcomes.
