Title: Ad-Hoc Insights

Company: AtliQ Hardwares (an imaginary leading computer hardware producer in India with a global presence)

Challenge: AtliQ Hardwares aimed to enhance data-driven decision-making by expanding their analytics team. Tony Sharma, the Data Analytics Director, devised a SQL challenge to evaluate candidates' technical and soft skills.

My Task: As a hypothetical applicant, I:

Reviewed 'ad-hoc-requests.pdf' with 10 business queries.
Crafted and executed SQL queries.
Developed a Power BI and PowerPoint presentation to showcase insights to top management.

Approach: Utilized MySQL for data retrieval and analysis. Employed Power BI for impactful visualizations. Designed a professional presentation to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.

Outcome: This project demonstrated my ability to handle complex data queries and present findings effectively, enhancing both my technical and communication skills

Project Details

During my 1-month internship at Foresight B.I. Solutions Inc., I worked on a Power BI project for Forggith Pharmaceuticals, a Germany-based company. The project focused on creating dashboards to analyze sales and marketing performance (2022–2025). Using a star schema data model with 8 tables, I cleaned, transformed, and modeled data in Power BI. Key tasks included appending sales data, unpivoting targets, creating a calendar table for time intelligence, and establishing relationships for efficient reporting.

The dashboards had three pages: Overview, Sales Report, and Marketing Report. They tracked KPIs such as Total Revenue, Target Achievement, Revenue by Channel, and Team Performance. Insights showed revenue exceeded targets by 41%, antiseptics led sales, and Team Delta excelled in marketing. Recommendations included sales training, market research, and geographical expansion. This project demonstrated my expertise in DAX, Power Query, and visualization techniques.
