Market Performance vs Targets

Project Details

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻:
• Collected data source (CSV) includes dimension tables (market, products, customers) and fact table (sales_monthly)
• Loaded all the tables into Power Query to do basic cleaning and transformations such as : adding timeseries table (dim_date), changing data types, handling nulls/duplicates
• Then loaded the clean data into excel data model. Did modeling by establishing relations between different tables
• Finally using Power Pivot and few DAX measures created valuable insights about the business, such as:
1. Customer/Market Performance
2. Profit & Loss statement by fiscal year and months
3. Top 10 products

• Collected data from different sources (MYSQL db, CSV , Excel sheet)
• Loaded all the tables into Power Query to do basic cleaning and transformations such as : adding time series table (dim_date), changing data types, handling

An interactive website through which users can input/update/delete their expenses. Which will be stored in a Database. Also they will be able to generate analytics about their expense patterns by monthly and categorical breakdown.

Project Details

🛠️Tools & Libraries used:
Backend: FastAPI, Python, MySQL connector, Pydantic, Requests, My SQL
Frontend: Streamlit (for rapid, python based web development), Pandas
Data Source: JSON (from MySQL Database)

🧩Breakdown
✔Built a db_helper.py file which connects and queries my database
✔Built the server.py file which uses 'FastAPI' in the backend
✔Built the frontend of my website using 'streamlit' library. A fantastic library to build a quick website with raw python.

🎯Learnings:
✔(CRUD) operations, interacting with MySQL database using python
✔Creating backend of a website using FastAPI. which works as a middleman between my database and frontend website.
✔Creating interactive frontend using Streamlit library of pythonm, which requires zero Javascript/CSS knowledge
logging different functions to keep track of executions. which helps debugging errors in future
✔Creating Test files of different functions to check their accuracy before deploying in production

🧩Breakdown:
Leveraged advanced SQL techniques (functions, stored procedures, CTEs, temporary tables, views, triggers) to:
✓ Generate monthly and yearly sales reports for key customers like Croma India.
✓ Build stored procedures for automated reporting and market badge allocation.
✓ Analyze top markets, products, and customers by net/gross sales for FY2021.
✓ Develop a regional sales breakdown and track forecast accuracy trends.
✓ Export query results to CSV for visualization in Excel.
