About Me

Hi, I’m Sreerag, a Data Professional who enjoys discovering insights hidden in data and turning them into meaningful, business-ready outcomes. I started my journey at Alstom India, working 2.5 years as a Product Cost Analyst, where I built reports, automated workflows, and helped teams make data-driven decisions.

I’ve developed strong skills in Power BI, SQL, Python, and Excel, and over time, expanded my focus into end-to-end Data Engineering. I now work with AWS, Azure, Apache Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, dbt, and Kafka, understanding how data moves from raw ingestion to analytics and reporting.

Project Details

Built an end-to-end AWS Data Engineering ETL pipeline simulating a real-world data lake and data warehouse system. The project ingests data from a MySQL OLTP source into Amazon S3 (Raw Zone) using Python. Log files are transformed using AWS Lambda, while structured CSV data is processed through AWS Glue ETL jobs and crawlers, generating curated datasets in S3. AWS Athena is used for ad-hoc SQL queries and data validation. The processed data is then loaded into Amazon Redshift using COPY commands, and incremental load logic is implemented for warehouse optimization. Finally, a Power BI dashboard is built on top of Redshift to visualize insights and KPIs. The pipeline includes S3 event triggers, IAM roles, and budget alerts, representing a complete data engineering workflow on AWS.

The company is committed to leveraging data analytics to drive smart, data-informed decisions.AtliQ Hardwares identified a gap in their ability to make quick, smart data-informed decisions. To bridge this gap, they aimed to expand their data analytics team by hiring junior data analysts proficient in both technical and soft skills. Tony Sharma, their Data Analytics Director, devised a SQL challenge to evaluate these skills.
