Bootcamp Refund Policy
We understand that you could get confused before buying a bootcamp. To support your buying decision, we have provided all the necessary information and made several videos available for free.
However, Codebasics is all about caring for the learner experience - if you want to initiate a refund for any reason, you can write to [email protected]. Refunds will be made according to the policy below.
Withdrawals During the Bootcamp (Applicable for all bootcamps)
If you don’t see the tremendous value you expected in our product, and you wish to withdraw within the refund period, we will proceed with a 100% refund of the fee paid during bootcamp enrollment to your original payment mode — no questions asked.
- All Self-Paced Bootcamps (Data Analytics, Gen AI & Data Science, Data Engineering, and Soft Skills Bootcamp): Refund period is 30 days from the date of enrollment.
- Live Cohort Bootcamps: For most of our live cohort bootcamps, the refund window stays open through the first two live sessions, so you can experience the program before deciding. The exact refund cutoff date is mentioned on each bootcamp/cohort page. See the dedicated section below for full details.
Once the refund period has passed since your enrollment date, you will not be eligible for any refund.
Your refund eligibility is determined by the date and time of your written refund request (Indian Standard Time), not by when our team reads or processes it. Support hours do not affect eligibility.
Important: Note on Subsidized Pricing
If you enrolled in any Codebasics course/bootcamp at a reduced price because a prior purchase was used as a subsidy, please read the rule below carefully as it directly affects your refund eligibility.
General Rule on Subsidized Purchases
At Codebasics, when you use a prior purchase to get a reduced (subsidized) price on a newer course/bootcamp, that prior purchase becomes non-refundable from the moment the subsidy is applied. This rule applies across all Codebasics courses and bootcamps.
To Simplify: Your subsidy was calculated based on what you already paid. Refunding the original purchase after it has been used to reduce the price of another course/bootcamp would mean you received that newer course/bootcamp at an unfair price. To keep things fair for everyone, the original purchase is locked once a subsidy is applied.
Please note:
- If you re-enroll into a bootcamp that you were already part of earlier, the fee is non-refundable.
- If you pay by EMI (credit card EMI or PayPal EMI), your refund eligibility is exactly the same as any other payment method. Please see the EMI Payments section below for how EMI refunds are processed and which bank charges are not refundable.
- The refund policy is not applicable for learners already enrolled in an existing bootcamp and just opting for an upgrade. In such cases, the upgrade fee is non-refundable.
- EMI is not available on upgrades or re-enrollments, as these fees are non-refundable.
Live Cohort Bootcamp Refund Policy
Our live cohort bootcamps are time-bound, intensive live programs. Due to their live nature, the following refund policy applies to them separately from self-paced bootcamps.
Refund Window
Refund requests must be submitted before the end of the day following the second live session of the cohort. For example, if the first two live sessions fall on a Saturday and Sunday, the refund window closes at the end of the day on Monday. The exact refund cutoff date for each cohort is stated on its respective bootcamp/cohort page.
Eligibility is decided by the date and time your written request reaches us at [email protected], in Indian Standard Time. A written request sent through another official Codebasics channel within the window will also be honoured; we will ask you to confirm it by email for our records.
Within this window, learners are eligible for a 100% refund of the fee paid - no questions asked. After this period, no refund will be issued under any circumstances.
If you paid by EMI, the 100% refund refers to the course fee. Certain charges levied by your bank are not refundable by Codebasics - see the EMI Payments section below.
Subsidized Enrollments (Adjusted Pricing)
We want to be completely transparent about how subsidized pricing works, because it directly affects your refund eligibility. If you enrolled at a reduced price because a prior Codebasics purchase was used as a subsidy, the following rules apply:
- Your prior purchase (bootcamp or individual course) that was used to calculate the adjusted price becomes non-refundable once the subsidy is applied, regardless of its own refund window.
- If you request a refund for the live cohort bootcamp itself, only the amount you actually paid for that bootcamp will be refunded. Your original purchase remains intact and accessible.
- If you paid the adjusted price by EMI, the refund is calculated on the amount you actually paid, and only that amount is returned to your bank. Your prior purchase remains non-refundable and accessible.
Examples:
Example 1 - Using a bootcamp as subsidy:
You own a self-paced Codebasics bootcamp and enroll in a live cohort bootcamp at an adjusted (reduced) price based on what you previously paid. You cannot later request a refund for the self-paced bootcamp, because it was used to calculate your reduced price. However, if you refund the live cohort bootcamp before the cutoff date, you receive the amount you paid for it back in full and keep your self-paced bootcamp access.
Example 2 - Using an individual course as subsidy:
You own an individual course that is part of a bootcamp's content and use it as a subsidy to enroll in a live cohort bootcamp at a reduced price. Once the subsidy is applied, that individual course is no longer eligible for a refund, even if it is still within its own refund window. If you later decide to refund the live cohort bootcamp (within the cutoff date), only the amount you actually paid for the live cohort bootcamp is refunded. Your individual course access remains intact.
We know this is a lot to take in. If you have any questions about how your specific purchase history affects your refund eligibility, please write to us at [email protected] before enrolling - we are happy to walk you through it.
Additional Notes
- EMI enrollments (credit card EMI and PayPal EMI) follow the same refund window and eligibility as any other payment method. See the EMI Payments section below.
- If you re-enroll after receiving a refund, the re-enrollment fee is non-refundable.
- If the cohort is canceled or postponed by Codebasics, learners are eligible for a full refund.
- If a cohort is canceled or postponed by Codebasics and you paid by EMI, we refund the amount we received and your EMI is cancelled.
- Courses received as gifts are non-refundable, regardless of usage or time of request.
- For refund requests or questions, write to [email protected].
- Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method. Card and EMI refunds may take up to 10 working days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
EMI Payments (Credit Card EMI and PayPal EMI)
Where EMI is available
For now, EMI is available only on live cohort bootcamps. It is not available on self-paced bootcamps, individual courses, events, subscription plans, physical products, upgrades, or re-enrollments.
Credit card EMI is available to learners in India and is processed through Razorpay. No-cost EMI options are available for 3 and 6 month tenures on select banks and cards only. Eligibility depends on your bank or card. Other EMI plans are available with applicable interest charges. PayPal EMI is available to international learners and is provided by PayPal.
Your refund rights are the same on EMI
Paying by EMI does not reduce or remove your right to a refund. EMI enrollments follow exactly the same refund window and eligibility rules as any other payment method for that program, as stated in the Live Cohort Bootcamp Refund Policy above.
How an EMI refund works
- When you choose EMI, your purchase is financed by your bank and you repay your bank in monthly installments. Your installments are paid to your bank, not to Codebasics.
- If you request a refund within the refund window, Codebasics refunds the amount we received to the same credit card used for the purchase. Your bank then cancels the EMI arrangement.
- On No Cost EMI, the amount your bank actually loaned you is lower than the listed price, because Codebasics pays the interest on your behalf as an upfront discount. The refund equals the amount your bank loaned you, which clears your loan in full. You are not out of pocket for the difference, because you never paid it.
- Partial refunds are not available on EMI. A refund cancels the entire EMI.
Bank charges that Codebasics cannot refund
The following are charged by your bank, not by Codebasics. We do not receive them and we cannot reverse them. You may request your bank to reverse them, and some banks do.
- For learners in India paying by credit card EMI through Razorpay: the one-time EMI processing fee charged by your bank at the time of purchase (typically ₹299 + GST; the exact amount varies by bank).
- Interest and GST already billed to you on any installment before the refund was processed.
- Any cancellation, foreclosure, or late-payment charge levied by your bank.
This means that on an EMI enrollment, a “100% refund” refers to the course fee paid to Codebasics. Depending on when you cancel and which bank you use, a small amount of bank charges may not be recoverable.
Important: keep paying your bank until the EMI is confirmed closed.
If an installment is billed by your bank while your refund is being processed, please pay it. Your bank's systems are not aware that a refund is in transit. You will not lose that money, because the refund credit covers it. Skipping a credit card payment can result in late fees, interest charges, and a negative report to credit bureaus, which Codebasics cannot reverse on your behalf.
Refund timeline
EMI refunds are initiated within 2 business days of an eligible request. The credit may take up to 10 working days to appear on your card statement, depending on your bank. Instant refunds are not available on EMI.
If your EMI is not cancelled after a refund
In most cases your bank cancels the EMI automatically once the refund is received. Occasionally a bank does not. If installments continue to be billed more than 10 working days after your refund has been credited, write to [email protected]. We will provide you with the refund reference number for your bank. Please continue paying any installment billed until your bank confirms the EMI is closed.
If you convert a payment to EMI after purchase
If you pay the full amount at checkout and later convert that transaction into EMI yourself, through your bank's mobile app, netbanking, or customer care, that loan is created directly between you and your bank. Codebasics and our payment gateway have no record of it. A refund from Codebasics will be credited to your card, but it will not automatically cancel that loan. You will need to ask your bank to foreclose the loan using the refunded amount, and your bank may levy a foreclosure charge.
PayPal EMI (international learners)
PayPal EMI enrollments follow the same refund window and eligibility as any other payment method. Where a refund is due, Codebasics refunds the amount received to PayPal, and PayPal processes it under your agreement with them. Any interest, fees, or charges applied by PayPal under that agreement are governed by PayPal's terms and are not refundable by Codebasics.
Questions ?
If you are unsure how EMI affects your refund eligibility, write to [email protected] before enrolling. We are happy to walk you through it.
Course Refund Policy
We understand that you could get confused before buying a course. To support your buying decision, we have provided all the necessary information and also made several videos available for free. However, Codebasics is all about caring for the learner experience - if you want to initiate a refund for other reasons, you can write to [email protected]. Refunds will be made according to the policy below. We strive to maintain the highest quality standards, and as with everything we do, you receive a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Withdrawals During the course (Applicable for all courses)
If you don’t see the tremendous value you expected in our product, you may request a 100% refund - no questions asked, provided the request is made within the refund period.
- All Individual Courses: Refund period is 7 days from the date of enrollment.
After 7 days from enrollment, you will no longer be eligible for a refund.
Please note:
- EMI is not available on individual courses
- Courses received as gifts are non-refundable, regardless of usage or time of request.
If an individual course was used as a subsidy to reduce the price of a live cohort bootcamp, that course is no longer eligible for a refund, regardless of its refund window.
Cancellations or rescheduling by Codebasics
Codebasics reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course at any time, especially in the event of insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances.
On such occasions, learners are eligible for a full refund.
Physical Products Refund Policy
We are unable to provide refunds once the product has been delivered or the purchase has been made. The products also cannot be exchanged once delivered. This is because handling, packaging, and logistics are involved, and once dispatched, the product cannot be resold. However, if you receive a product in a damaged condition, it will be eligible for replacement.
- We encourage you to carefully review all information before making your purchase.
- For any question before buying, or for replacement requests, you can always reach us at [email protected], and our team will be happy to guide you.
- At Codebasics, we value our learners and are committed to providing the best quality resources and experience. Your trust means everything to us.
Event & Session Refund Policy
This policy applies to all online and offline events, including live sessions, workshops, webinars, and conferences.
Online Events (Live Sessions, Webinars, & Workshops)
- If you are unable to attend and request a refund at least 24 hours before the event begins, we will provide a 50% refund to your original payment method.
- If the event is rescheduled or canceled by Codebasics, you are eligible for a full refund.
- Refunds are not available for no-shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event begins.
Offline Events (In-Person Workshops, Conferences, & Sessions)
- Every registration secures a spot, and extensive planning goes into creating a valuable experience for all attendees. Because of this, we’re unable to offer refunds for offline events.
- However, if you can’t attend, you’re welcome to transfer your registration to someone else. Just email us at [email protected] with their details, and we’ll take care of the rest.
- If the event is rescheduled or canceled by Codebasics, you are eligible for a full refund.
Past Events (Recordings & On-Demand Content)
- Refunds are not available for past events purchased as recordings, as these are one-time purchases providing full access to the content.
Subscription Plans
Auto-Renewal & Billing
Codebasics subscription plans are billed on a monthly and annual basis. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle and your registered payment method will be charged unless you cancel before your renewal date.
Refund Policy for Subscription Plans
Monthly Plan: No refund is applicable for monthly plans. When you cancel your monthly subscription, you will continue to have full access until the end of your current billing cycle. After the billing cycle ends, access is revoked and the subscription will not auto-renew.
Annual Plan: If you cancel your annual subscription, you are eligible for a prorated refund for the remaining unused months, calculated based on the amount you actually paid (not the regular listed price).
The refund is always based on the amount you actually paid, not the regular or listed price.
Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 working days to your original payment method. The exact time taken depends on your bank.
EMI is not available on subscription plans.
Subscription Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time. To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before your next renewal date. If you cancel within 24 hours of your renewal date, the cancellation will take effect from the following billing cycle. After cancellation, you will retain access to subscription content until the end of the current paid period.
To cancel your subscription, follow these steps:
- Go to your Profile on the Codebasics website.
- Navigate to the Subscription section.
- Click on Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Note on UPI AutoPay and eNACH (Indian learners):
If you set up your subscription payment via UPI AutoPay or eNACH (Net Banking), your payment mandate is registered directly with your bank. Cancelling your subscription on Codebasics stops future renewals on our platform, but you must also revoke the mandate separately through your UPI app (under AutoPay or Mandates) or your bank's net banking portal to prevent any further bank-level debits. Both steps are required. If the mandate is not cancelled from your UPI app, you may continue to be charged even after cancelling on the Codebasics website.
Stripe (International learners):
If you subscribed using Stripe, please cancel the recurring billing agreement directly from your Stripe account in addition to cancelling on Codebasics. Cancelling only on Codebasics may not be sufficient to stop charges from Stripe.
Failed Payment & Access Suspension
If a scheduled subscription payment fails on the renewal date, your subscription will be automatically cancelled and you will lose access immediately on that same day. There will be no retry attempt. You will be notified by email and/or text message. To continue access, you may re-subscribe at any time. Please ensure sufficient balance in your payment method before the renewal date to avoid any disruption in access.
Payment Disputes(all payment methods, not only subscriptions)
If you believe any charge was made in error, or if a refund has not reached you, please contact us at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. We aim to resolve all payment disputes within 7-10 working days of receiving your written complaint. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account access while the dispute is under review.
If you have paid by EMI, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. A chargeback on an EMI transaction can delay both your refund and the cancellation of your EMI.
Escalation: If your dispute is not acknowledged within 48 hours, or not resolved within 7 business days, you may escalate to our Consumer Grievance Officer at [email protected]. If the matter remains unresolved after a further 30 days, you may contact Razorpay (for Indian payments) or your bank/payment provider to raise a formal dispute.
Pre-Debit Notification
Before each recurring subscription charge, you will receive a notification to your registered email or mobile number in advance of the scheduled debit amount and date, as per the following schedule:
- Monthly Plan: 3 days before renewal.
- Annual Plan: 30 days before renewal and again 3 days before renewal.
Payment Processor (Within India)
Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Limited, a payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Credit card EMI is offered by your card-issuing bank and facilitated through Razorpay.
Note: PayPal EMI is provided by PayPal. Codebasics refunds the amount it received; any interest or fees charged by PayPal under your EMI agreement are governed by PayPal's terms. See the EMI Payments section.
Support Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM IST. Support hours do not affect your refund eligibility. A refund request sent in writing within the refund window is honoured based on the date and time it was sent, in Indian Standard Time.
